National Home Performance Virtual Conference
The Same Great Content, Completely Online
Each year the Building Performance Association (BPA) hosts the National Home Performance Conference that provides continuing education opportunities and the space for attendees to connect. After canceling the in-person conference due to COVID-19, the conference needed to be seamlessly transitioned to a virtual format to serve thousands of registrants within four weeks.
Our team was ready to take on that challenge. To start, we created a new brand treatment for the virtual conference, pulling elements from the in-person conference design. Then, we worked closely with the BPA team to develop an initial communication plan to launch this new conference format, drive registrations and provide exposure for their sponsors.
Creating an Experience Online
While the internal team worked to develop and fulfill the Learning Management System (LMS), the Fierce team delivered a conference microsite within just a couple of weeks to host the conference details. The site, with password-protected aspects, served as a hub for all-conference access and provided a digital platform for the virtual trade show. We developed social media creative, email marketing content and support the launch of two weeks of live virtual events. A live chat option was added for the best user experience and when the playback materials, feedback surveys and data collection were needed, we delivered.
Nearly 1,500 attendees accessed the live conference materials. Now we’re working with the BPA team on the second phase of the project—all session materials available within the LMS. We are continuing to work toward new goals of additional conference tickets now that all materials are available. The longer selling period allows for new strategies to come into play.
